Yesterday we talked about visiting libraries to find out what you "geek" (like to do or to learn about what most interests you). Have you ever tried to do something that looks like fun but found out that it's really hard to do at the beginning? When you're just starting a new activity, it may be tough to do because you're just learning how. The more you work at it, the easier it will become, and the more fun you'll have.
You should try new things to discover what you geek. Even though it may be hard to do at first, stick to it and keep trying. Your dreams may look far away sometimes, but you can get there. We can walk great distances even if we're just taking a few steps at a time.
Trying different things and not giving up is the theme of a new children's picture book called Dream Big, Little Pig!, written by Olympic figure skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi. Watch the book trailer below, and see if you'd like to read the book.
You can check-out Dream Big, Little Pig! at Mooresville Public Library (MPL Call No. EASY YAM). If you or your grownups have an Evergreen Indiana library card, you can check-out the book using our online catalog.
Follow your dreams. You can do it.
