The Indian in the Cupboard, by Lynne Reid Banks (illustrated by Brock Cole), has been around for 31 years, so your parents probably read it when they were little. It was made into a movie in 1995, but I always recommend reading the book, because the stories are usually so much more detailed in book form. Movies are fun to watch, but they can't capture all of the twists and turns that you can enjoy when reading. The book was written for readers between ages 9-12, but teenagers and grown-ups also should like this exciting tale of imagination and adventure. Early readers may also enjoy having grown-ups read this book aloud to them. Once you get started, you won't be able to put the book down!
