Mandy's Belonging Place

If you enjoyed The Secret Garden and The Velvet Room, then Mandy, by Julie Andrews Edwards, is sure to please.  If you have ever felt out-of-place, lonely, and needing to find out where you belong, then you will understand Mandy's struggles living in an orphanage, and the joys she experiences when she discovers her own private refuge.

Sanctuary comes with a price, however.  Mandy must learn to trust others, as well as herself, and to find that special place inside her heart, where she will always feel safe and belonging.  It's not easy to do, either in novels or in real life.  We sympathize with Mandy and understand what she's going through.  We, too, know what it's like to feel alone, even when surrounded by throngs of people.  But feeling alone doesn't mean that we are without friends and loved ones, as Mandy soon discovers.

Readers between the ages of 9-12 should enjoy this book.  Young adults, too, may be able to relate to the characters and their trials and tribulations.  Adults will appreciate the emotional honesty. Consult our Evergreen Indiana online catalog to place a hold on a copy of this fine book, or visit our Library to check-out a copy.
