Hello! Cauli Le Chat here. I'm the official roving reporter for Mooresville Public Library, in Mooresville, Indiana. My blog is especially for my kid readers. I hope you have fun following what's going on at our favorite public library.
Have you seen Miss Michelle's early literacy video blog (vlog) postings? They're available on the Library's YouTube Channel. Just click this link to see our early literacy video playlist. You could also click the play button below to start watching the videos. Loads of fun for everybody! Discover great new books for early readers (i.e., preschoolers), interesting program activities, exciting crafts, and much more.
Did you know that Miss Michelle, MPL early literacy specialist, has a new blog? It's called Miss Michelle @ MPL: Fun and Learning With Early Literacy. In the blog she will be talking about library programs, activities, and books for early readers (i.e., preschoolers). Lots of fun and adventures!

Thanks to our former early literacy specialist, Miss Jaymi, the Indiana University Health-Morgan Hospital
(in Martinsville, Indiana) will be providing blood pressure and
cholesterol screenings at the Library on Monday, September 10, 2012, from 1-5
Want to hear the really exciting part of this program?
A Heart Two Stories Tall!

Yep. I.U. Health-Morgan Hospital will have an inflatable two-story
heart that patrons may walk through to learn more about how it works. Anything that large has got to be fun to romp around in! If you can
attend, by all means do. You'll learn more about your heart and get
some important health screenings to boot.
As part of her library critters world tour, "Flat" Cauli V, or Flat Five for short, has filed her report from her visit to Westfield Washington Public Library, in Westfield, Indiana. She even took a dip into WWPL's favorite fishes aquarium!
Miss Suzanne, whom I call Broadway Gal (because she's a stage actress--really and truly), has just published a commemorative storybook called The Journey to Our Starry Night Mural. It's a fun read and has some great pictures. Click the images below to make them bigger.
Since not everybody wants his or her face posted to the Internet, we borrowed Vincent Van Gogh's face from a famous painting, did some quick editing with Photoshop, and, suddenly, everyone is a famous 19th century Dutch post-Impressionist painter!
Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890)
Thanks to our sponsors for making this project possible. Thanks, too, to our many volunteers and patrons whose talents made the mural a beautiful reality.
Fresh from another leg of her worldwide library critters tour, "Flat" Cauli V, or Flat Five for short, has returned from her visit with Porter C. Bibliocat at Anna Porter Public Library (APPL), in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I've got pictures on my grown-up blog. Lots of great gifts from Porter and his friends at APPL.
We have some videos from the Library's centennial celebration last Saturday, May 12, 2012. The first four are snippets of Dancing Through the Decades, and interactive program with the Fred Astaire Dancers. Then there was a Monarch butterfly release at the end of festivities.
Click here to see a video of an ensemble of the Mooresville High School Orchestra that performed at our centennial celebration.
Sammy the Toucan interviews the Library's new summer intern, Miss Alicia, who hails from the Indiana University-Bloomington School of Library Science (SLIS), where she is completing her master's degree. This will be Alicia's second master's, so she has quite a bit of learning under her hat. Well, she's not actually wearing a hat in the video, but you know what I mean.
Welcome, Miss Alicia! We hope you enjoy interning with Miss Suzanne, Miss Rachel, Miss Jaymi, Miss Miriam, and Sammy the Toucan in MPL Youth Services.
Don't miss the Library's 100th anniversary celebration on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Here's the fun you'll have when you drop by the Library on our special day. A party like this only happens once in a hundred years, so you won't want to miss it.
