See You Around!

Since I'm leaving town soon, I wanted to say goodbye to everybody who has followed my blogs for the past three years.  It's been fun!  My human family is moving, so I won't be able to visit the Library anymore.  But you can still drop in whenever you're in the neighborhood.

No registration is required!  Just come as you are (and bring a caregiver, for our patrons ages 0-6).  You don't need a disguise, but that can be fun, too.

New Videos on Storytime Universe

We have several new videos posted to Crafty Gal's Storytime Universe playlist on YouTube.  In addition to Crafty Gal's videos, we have several others created by children's librarians who wanted to share their techniques with other librarians (as well as patrons).  Click the playlist below to watch the videos currently available.

Mousetronaut Goes to Mars

Mousetronaut Goes to Mars, by Astronaut Mark Kelly
(Illustrated by C. F. Payne)

This is a cute children's picture book and is filled with scientific information.  The drawings are extremely authentic, which makes sense, given that author Mark Kelly is a NASA astronaut, and C. F. Payne can draw anything.  It is an uplifting adventure story that should inspire young readers to strive to explore and achieve.  It's available in our Evergreen Indiana online catalog.

GPL's Puppy Shower

Fifi and Scruffy, my canine friends at Greenwood (Indiana) Public Library, have had puppies, and last Saturday they had a puppy shower at the library.  Lots of families played fun games and suggested names for the pups.

I've got more photos on my other blog, if you'd like to see them.

See Our Bookworm Float!

The MPL bookworm float made the "hit parade" last Sunday during the annual Old Settlers parade through downtown Mooresville on its way to Pioneer Park (and the Old Settlers festival itself).  Boss Lady and Officemeister led the way with the MPL banner.  Click the images to enlarge.

Since the bookworm was facing left (and our photographer was on the right-paw side of the street), you can't see the bookworm's face very well. Fortunately, we have other photos from a previous blog post.

Great job, Decorinator and her float team!

Broadway Gal's Caldecott Dress on Display

Broadway Gal's travelling Caldecott button dress moved front and center from the Library's Youth Services Department to the Grand Hall. Caldecott Medal award-winning books are on display, too. Naturally, we have photos, which you should click to enlarge.  This time, we took pictures of both sides of the dress.

The dress still looks better on Broadway Gal.  Just saying.
